HORRENDOUS Traffic Jams - Missed Almost All of Garbage
This venue had ample time to establish an ingress/egress plan, knowing this event was popular. Many of us were heartbroken that we missed all but 1 or 2 of Garbage's set (the opener) despite reaching the venue area at least 1/2 hour before they began. We've been to several shows since it reopened and never have we experienced such terrible traffic jams. The northbound cars were diverted to much better spots (not VIP), while we were forced into another line just to park. I'm not sure why this place got it together for prior shows, and not this one. Six lanes (southbound and southwest bound) were squeezed into two, shared with northbound traffic coming from Otay. Then, it took another 20 minutes to make it through ticketing and security. I mean, COME ON! This review is for the artists, not the venue (who were stellar!) Truly disappointing for our local venue. Do better!

This was a very smart way to market her new album, bringing the women from Lisbon to join her tour/show was simply Everything! Happy Tears of course, I couldn’t believe I was as close to her as I was. The show was Amazing, with just the right amount of world/political views. I was in the middle of the orchestra seating and I cried from begging. Your Impact on my life truly kept my life going in dark times. My Sincerest Gratitude to an Amazing Woman, Mother, Artist Activist, and Idol to so many of us. Her younger children brought some precious moments as they joined her on stage. Without you I might not have made it to my 49th birthday. I have saved my money for each tour and every time I get closer to my Idol, the one who was ALWAYS there for me growing up gay in a small town. Keep going Madame X. I like so many others will always be there for you! Frozen with Lordes was something I will never forget.
Disappointing
As dedicated fans who never miss a show when she comes to San Diego, we were disappointed by this eighth Mannheim Steamroller Christmas concert we've seen. All of her other concerts have been great, but this one was not up to par. The concert was scheduled to start at 8:00, but her band did not come out until around 9:00, with no opening act. The band played a very repetitive simple tune for about 20 minutes until Erykah Badu finally came out. She sang only about five or six songs, with minimal interaction with the audience, except for introducing her nephew and discussing his basketball team. There was no encore, despite it being well before the music curfew time. Only two or three of the songs she performed were recognizable. She did not mention anything about her current projects or if she is working on a new album. It appeared that she did not want to be there and was eager to leave the stage. The show lasted no more than 45 minutes. The tickets were quite expensive, and we feel we did not get our money's worth. However, as loyal fans, we will give her another chance the next time she performs in town.

The musicians, dancers, sound engineers, and stage crew are worthy of stellar accolades, and she always gives credit to her "CREW." I was enthralled at the blend of commitment and God-given talents to ensure fans were provided with a first-class evening, leaving no stone unturned. Everyone in the stadium was truly blessed by them, and I pray every person who touched this tour in such a special and unique way be abundantly blessed for their efforts. Mannheim Steamroller Christmas and the CREW went above and beyond.
